Leaves from Ming Feng Shan Da Ye Zhong large leaf variety 鳴鳳山大叶种 , picked from 300 year old ancient trees (gu shu). Sheng pu'er (raw pu'erh) mao cha harvested in mid-April 2024 in Yan An Shan, at an altitude of 2,130m, in Yongde area of Lincang district, Yunnan province, China.
The tea presents a delicate profile with good energy, subtle veggies and nectarine notes, and hints of umami. The brew offers an especially light hue in a semi body, ending on a slightly sourness, sweet aftertaste. Very smooth tea with hardly any astrigency.
Very limited quantity of loose is in stock, as we picked this tea and intended it for cakes. This is the second year in a row we are picking Yan An Shan 岩岸山 sheng pu'er, mostly we make white tea from this material. We continue to experiment and evaluate this batch in different storage conditions, and waiting for the 200g cakes to grow mature enough before releasing them.
Needless to say, as all our tea from Yunnan, this tea was grown naturally in a sustainable environment without the use of pesticides, nor fertilizers.
This tea is suited for both beginners, and experienced with young sheng. Suitable for drinking throught the year, in the first part of the day.
